I sometime daydream that by some time this day next year I will either still be in Germany or on my way home. And hopefully be trilingual, that is my purpose of going there, learn a new language. I am still waiting on my host family to contact me, its a nerve-raking feeling since I have no idea who they are or where they live, even how many siblings I will have. I just hope they can contact me soon because I am very anxious to see how they are. Days pass by and my departure date seems so far yet so close. I have two months off yet, its just 60 days left I have with my family to enjoy it. I will miss my niece (that is 2 years old) and my new baby nephew (thats just 2 months old). I have so many mixed feelings, but this is a once in a life time experience that I am willing to take.

My Chance to Success
My Junior year in High School comes to an ending and so begins my job hunting for the summer. Recently my High School has finally agreed to give me my diploma on time if I follow all their instructions. I don't mind it, I am just super excited about the whole experience in general and not have to stress if I would have to repeat my Senior year. So everything is coming as planned and just looking forward to raising some money for the trip. It won't be easy, but I know that all this hard work will pay off.

The Challenges to be an Exchange Student
Now as I am accepted to be an official Exchange Student in AFS, my fight right now is to get my diploma before I go. And the surprising thing is that I only need TWO classes to graduate. All my paperwork is done and the only things I need is to get accepted by a host family in Germany and see what school I am going to. Yet my school doesn't seem to want to give me my diploma as I go for my Senior year to Europe. Sadly, the Board of Education must vote on the little information I have about my journey. It's a nerve racking thing to know that I might lose a year of school here and have to repeat it when I get back. I am just praying for the best and that everything will have a solution!
If you would like to help me fundraise my exchange, please click on the chip-in button! Any donation will be greatly appreciate, as I said before no amount is too small.

The Beginning
Dear Friends,
My name is Daniela Gonzalez and in just a few months I am going to experience the most amazing thing in my life, I am going to LIVE in Germany for a year! Even though I am bilingual I've always found it interesting to be able to speak more than two languages. I find it a way to open doors for me and explore not only different places, but different cultures and how they work. It is still very little that I know of about the school I am going to and the family I am going to stay with, but I am very anxious to find out how it is going to be. I have heard many good things from there and I am just counting the days down until I leave.
I am trying very hard to raise money by babysitting kids to animals and bake goods such as cupcakes or cakes. Yet I still need help in order to make this come true.
Please make a donation through my blog and keep up with me as I continue my journey to Germany and as I am in Germany. No amount is too small, I know that these are rough times, but every little thing counts. Thank you for reading this and I would really appreciate if you could forward this to anyone you know.
From,
Daniela G.
